A design that triggered a complete shift.
⎯ Quasar 1 is the first bidirectional charger for home use. It allows you to charge and discharge your electric vehicle so you can use your car battery to power your home or the grid. With Quasar, your EV energy goes beyond driving.
Since the device was so groundbreaking from an engineering standpoint, and the corporation needed a breakthrough to outperform the competition, we had to take some creative risks with the design. Making it as small as possible to emphasise how far behind the competition was, and using a design language never seen in the industry, was my goal from the start.
The outcome was this amazing piece of work that was created with the golden ratio in mind, helping the business soar to the top of the European rankings. Brilliantly highlighted the technology that this device carried, by fusing engineering and style.
